Vice Adm. Carl V. Mauney, USN

Deputy Commander, United States Strategic Command

Admiral Mauney is the deputy commander, United States Strategic Command. Mauney's previous assignments include director, submarine warfare; commander, Submarine Group 8/Task Force 69; and commander, Allied Submarines Naval Forces South, NATO. Mauney also served as deputy commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, as director of plans and operations for U.S. Naval Forces Europe/U.S. 6th Fleet. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from Chaminade University in Honolulu. Mauney is also a graduate of the Navy Executive Business Program at the University of North Carolina.
