General Carey is the deputy director, Global Operations, Global Operations Directorate, United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. Previously, he served as the director, Current Operations (J3B), USSTRATCOM; commander, 90th Space Wing, F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo.; and director of Space Forces, Combined Air Operations Center, Southwest Asia. Carey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, from the University of Central Florida, Orlando; a Master of Public Administration degree, from the University of Oklahoma, Norman; and a Master of Arts degree in national security and strategic studies, with distinction, from the Naval War College, Newport, R.I.
