One of USSTRATCOM's goals is to strengthen synergy among space, cyberspace, and strategic deterrence. The Improving the Integration of Space Effects track session, moderated by Richard McCormick, SES, special assistant for International and Space Activities, Director's Office, Defense Advanced Research Projects, will discuss what space capabilities are needed to support warfighting needs and then examine gaps with respect to space technologies and emerging capabilities.

The track session will then break into four subgroups:

  • Environmental Monitoring, led by Lt. Col. Jeff Cox, USAF, Air Force Weather Agency
  • Navigational Warfare, led by Lt. Col. Daniel Wright, USAF, director, Navigational Warfare/Position, Navigation, and Timing, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense Network and Information Integration
  • Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance, led by Col. Charlotte Wilson, USAF, director, National Reconnaissance Office Operations Center
  • Satellite Communications, led by Peter Sauvé, director, Global Satellite Communications Center, Joint Task Force Global Network Operations, USSTRATCOM

The track session will be repeated three times during the Strategic Space Symposium, which will be held Nov. 2-4, at the Qwest Center Omaha in Omaha, Neb. For more details on the agenda, click here.
