National Space Strategy Track Session Provides Forum for Participant Input

Strategic Space Symposium attendees will have the extraordinary opportunity to participate in setting future strategy for USSTRATCOM.

The Determining the Value of Responsive Space as an Element of Our National Space Strategy track session is specifically designed to gather opinions and input from the participants on key strategic issues: defining a national strategy for Operationally Responsive Space (ORS); examining the value of ORS to the warfighter; exploring how current space policy affects warfighter performance; and determining what the warfighting space community should do to shape the future.

The track session will be led by Peter Wegner, Ph.D., director - Operationally Responsive Space Office, United States Department of Defense, and will include three breakout sessions:

  • Responsive Space: Is it/Can it be Valuable to the Warfighter?, led by Col. Thomas A. "Dingo" Doyne, USAF, deputy director, Space Programs and Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense
  • What is our National Space Strategy for ORS?, led by Col. Patrick Frakes, USA, director for Space Policy and Information Operations, Office of the Secretary of Defense
  • How Should the Department of Defense Posture acquisitions for ORS?, led by Capt. Brian N. Humm, USN, chief, Global ISR and Space Division, USSTRATCOM

The track session will be repeated three times during the Strategic Space Symposium, which will be held Nov. 2-4, at the Qwest Center Omaha in Omaha, Neb. For more details on the agenda, click here.
